The Knotted Cable Cap is an adorable topper for a lucky little one! This pattern from Big Bad Wool features twisting braids that merge at a little knotted bobble on the crown. With instructions for five sizes, you can knit a Knotted Cable Cap for all your kiddos!

This cozy hat was knit using Big Bad Wool Weepaca, an incredibly soft half-and-half blend of fine merino and baby alpaca. Designed with your wee one in mind, Weepaca was created to be safe for hand-wash or a gentle, cold machine cycle. And that fun color palette—full of traditional shades and a few juicy pops—provides so much room for play!

The Details

SIZING
Sizes: premie (newborn, infant, toddler, child).
Fit note: this hat is sized to be worn with the brim folded up initially, and then folded down to extend the fit for a few months!

YARN
1 (1, 1, 2, 2) skeins (95 yds/86m each).

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 5 (3.75mm) and US 6 (4mm) 16" circular needles and a set of 5 DPNs in the larger size. (Smallest two sizes may be more comfortably worked on DPNs throughout).
Cabled needle.
Stitch marker.
Blunt darning needle to finish.

GAUGE
22 stitches and 30 rows = 4"/10cm in Braid Pattern using larger needle.
